hello everyone ! I've been working on 3 paintings and here is the process for 2 of them. I made a post about the first one the other day but none of the photos showed up and I dont wanna remake the post so . no process for that one. sorry.  after painting this lil sheet of mat board entirely neon green, I sketched some hands on it with my beloved construction paper crayons ! then I used gouache to block out kind of a background . I decided that I didnt want these hands to be green so I painted over them with pink gouache. and it wasn't pretty yet so. I used a paint pen to make those lines bold 👍  I scribbled a little with crayon and I decided it was good enough !  okay the next one is . well. trust the process. please. I started with a light purple background! I wanted to do something figurative but then the figure looked bad so I decided I was gonna draw hands instead (all in crayon) after painting the hands yellow (very Simpsonscore) and splotching on some white gouach...

hey gamers lately I've been really into drawing in zines instead of on normal paper or in my sketchbook. here's a scan of an unfolded zine I made semi recently: since I like drawing people so much, usually I start with some people but then the rest is a really random process like idk where that purple cat came from its really fun to start with one material (maybe alcohol markers) then switch to something else to make more marks (colored pencil or crayon perhaps) this type of art has been very important to me in rediscovering having Fun making art after 5 years of art school  I think all the materials used for this project were: ✰ cardstock, folded into an 8 page zine ✰ micron or some kind of similar pen to sketch in the little guys ✰ some combination of alcohol markers and water based markers (like the washable markers you get at the dollar store made for kids) to add big blocks of color ✰ crayon, oil pastel, and colored pencil for the little details and to add some variety in ...
